Product Care & Repair
Each piece from The Fine Jewellery Company is crafted to be worn and cherished for years to come. With the right care, your jewellery will maintain its beauty and brilliance over time.
To keep your The Fine Jewellery Company piece looking as radiant as you are, we recommend the following:
· Avoid contact with water, perfumes, and lotions
· Remove before sleeping, showering, or exercising
· Store in a dry, soft-lined box or pouch
· Gently polish with a soft, lint-free cloth after wear
CLEANING YOUR JEWELLERY
To maintain the beauty and brilliance of your jewellery, we recommend a gentle cleaning routine at home.
Begin by filling a bowl with warm water, avoiding cleaning under running water to prevent accidental loss. Add a small amount of mild washing-up liquid and allow your piece to soak for approximately 10 minutes, helping to loosen any dirt or residue.
Using a soft toothbrush, gently brush the surface of the jewellery to remove any remaining particles. Once complete, rinse the piece in fresh water and carefully dry using a soft, lint-free cloth.
Important Care Notes:
· This method is not suitable for pearls or porous gemstones such as opal. These should not be submerged in water. Instead, gently wipe with a soft cloth using warm water and a mild soap solution, then remove any residue with a damp cloth and allow to dry naturally.
· When cleaning earrings, we recommend removing any fittings where possible to allow access to all areas.
· For bracelets, take care to maintain their natural shape during cleaning.
· When cleaning pendants, particularly those attached to chains, ensure the chain remains untangled throughout the process.
POLISHING
While occasional polishing can help restore your jewellery’s shine, we do not recommend excessive polishing. Each time a piece is polished, a very small amount of metal is naturally removed. Over time, this may affect the integrity of the setting, particularly the claws that secure stones.
To preserve the longevity of your jewellery, polishing should be kept to a minimum and carried out with care.
STORAGE
When not being worn, store your jewellery in a soft pouch or lined jewellery box to prevent scratches and minimise exposure to air and humidity. Keeping pieces separate will help preserve their finish and prevent tangling.
RINGS & FIT
Rings—particularly those worn daily—may experience natural wear over time. We advise removing rings during activities that may cause impact or pressure, helping to preserve both the setting and the stone.
PRECIOUS METALS & STONES
Natural materials may vary slightly in appearance, making each piece unique. Over time, precious metals can develop subtle changes in tone, which can be restored with proper care and maintenance.
REPAIRS & RESPONSIBILITY
While we do not offer a general repair service, we stand fully behind the quality of our craftsmanship. Should your piece develop a defect or fault as a result of manufacturing, we will be pleased to assess and resolve the issue accordingly.
Please note that damage caused by wear and tear, accidental impact, or improper care is not covered.
