Working under the eves of Sherwood has been the greatest influence on British designer Clare Hawley. Her first and most iconic collection is the 'Leaves of Sherwood' and is hand fabricated out of sheet silver and gold using traditional techniques. To create this range, Clare scours the Forest floor for the perfect leaves, which are then taken back to her Sherwood Forest or Sheffield workshop. Each leaf is then recreated in to an exquisite piece of hand made jewellery. Clare employs both rose and yellow gold vermeil as optional finishes. Her jewellery is realistic and tactile, featuring textures and shapes that she believes were originally influenced to her by the fact her Mother was registered blind.
