During the Victorian era, when a loved one passed, it was etiquette for the family to go into mourning. Widows were expected to mourn there sweethearts for up to two years... Due to this mourning jewellery was a key accessory of the time.

This brooch is no exception... a striking piece designed with a round onyx, sitting beautifully within a golden rope-twist surround, showcasing a gorgeous split pearl star highlight.
